I am currently a board-certified pediatrician, recently honorably discharged from the United States Army after 7.5 years of active duty service. I have recently taken a new civilian job in Virginia. Over 6 years ago, I was told by my dean that I had a less than 5% chance of finishing my intern year due to PT (physical fitness) failures and Step 3 failures. I am here to tell you, But God! No matter what higher God you worship, just know that he has a way when nobody else does.
Someone reading this right now is debating medical school, someone just failed a step exam, someone just failed a shelf exam, someone is struggling with the SAT, someone is struggling with MCAT. We all have ups and downs. I had all of these downs!!!
Let me tell you as someone who wanted to be a pediatrician and failed her shelf exam in pediatrics. You can do it! You can get hit with failed after failed but that just shows your journey, not the final production.
